Jarid said he'd been wanting to check out Turkey Run Park off George Washington Pkwy so we packed a lunch, bundled the kids up and headed out. We didn't know what to expect - a playground? area with benches? bunch of trees with a walking trail? When we got there the map showed it was about a one mile hiking loop. We figured we were up for it :)
We hiked down and found a spot right of the Potomac to eat lunch. Morgan is really into skipping rocks these days so she and Owen "skipped" the rocks (aka threw rocks in the water.) We hiked the rest of the way around the loop and whew it was quite the adventure. We had to carry the kids across two rivers to finish the loop - okay, Jarid did that. It was enough to carry me and my big ol' pregnant belly. Ha. The kids had a blast and Jarid and I got our exercise for the day in for sure!
