Little monster party

Well, Owen's first birthday was a success! He had a great time, everything turned out SO cute and of course he got way too many gifts!! My friend Jenn (BellaGreyDesigns) did all the paper decor for the party - it was adorable!! Everyone loved the cute theme :) I got the cookies from Sugar Chic Cookies and they turned out sooooooo cute. We made some monsters on a stick, monster candy, cupcakes, ordered pizza and we were set! Owen tired out about 2 hrs into it and needed a nap but not before we sang happy birthday to him and had him eat some cupcake. He only took a small lick. He was getting tired already and we decided to hurry and do presents before he went for his nap. Whew that gave him a second wind - he had a good time opening and playing with everything.

We played "pin the eye on the monster" which was really entertaining. You think you're headed right for the eye and then you're not even on the monster at all! Of course, the kids were the ones who won! And we also had monster picture frames for everyone to decorate. It was hilarious to see all the adults getting into the craft!

As always, we are so thankful for our friends and family who helped us set up, came to party, gave our son gifts and then helped us clean up. We are so lucky we know all of you. I wish I had gotten more pics of all the guests. Maybe someone else took pics and is planning to share - hint, hint.

The big ONE

Happy birthday to our sweet, adorable, loving, funny, fiesty, hilarious, awesome son - Owen Michael! The last year has been a complete whirl wind since he's come into our lives of all types of different emotions. The biggest one, of course, being LOVE. We are just so in love with this kid it's unbelievable. There are many days when I just watch him sleeping still or keep kissing his cheeks until he makes me stop :) He's still a fussy little thing but we love him so much. Watching him grow this last year has been so much fun. I still can't believe it's been a year though since all of THIS has happened!

We love you Owen. We love the way you make crinkle your nose when you laugh. The face you make when you are half laughing and half fussing. Watching you play with your sister. The way you dive face into your guacamole. How you feed the dogs when you think I'm not looking. The cute face you make when you know you shouldn't do something (climb the stairs!) but still want to see what we think. We love the open mouth kisses you give. High fiving you. The way you sing along to any song we sing you. Watching you pat/clap/pat/clap because you love it so much. Your sweet new "big boy" hair cut. We love you little boy with all our hearts.

I'm thankful today and everyday to have our son. All the glory goes to God for sure!
