It's a niece!!!!

My sister Heather had her baby yesterday! They didn't find out the gender til birth and the plan was for Mike to come out into the waiting room in a pink or blue shirt. We were all pretty convinced it was a boy though...I was so surprised when I got a pic of Mike all in pink!! Sadie Ruth was born weighing 6lbs, 12oz and 19.5 in. Can't wait to meet her :)

Visitors in green

My friend Jessica came in town from Colorado and she stopped by so I could meet her adorable daughter Josephine and she could meet Owen and see Morgan. We had a good visit and got a few very green, very cute pictures! It was great to see her and I wish she lived closer so that babies could play together :( But..there's always vacations to Colorado to look forward to!

One month...already?

Owen is one month already. I have NO idea how it happened that fast. He's just adorable, snuggly, and sweet. He smells like a baby and I love just holding him and looking at him. These are his one month stats:

- at 2 wks was 8lbs, 12.5 oz (7lbs at birth)
- one month 11.5 lbs (yikes..growing boy!)
- he can pick his head up and move it from side to side
on his tummy
- he has outgrown his newborn clothes (sad face here) and
is wearing 0-3
- he is in size 1 diapers already
- he nurses every 2ish hrs during the day and 3-4 hrs at
night

Morgan is still a big fan of kissing him and calling him "O-Jo" and still worries about him when he isn't around. She'll hear him on the monitor and look up from playing and say "O-Jo??" just to make sure I heard him. Awww. It's been a fun and busy month. Looking forward to more :)

Zoo with Brittany :)

Brittany (Jarid's neice) came to play with Morgan and meet Owen for a day of her spring break. Morgan loved playing with her "Britty" and made sure to show her all her toys! We went to the zoo today (along with everyone else in Dallas b/c the weather was awesome!) and had lots of fun. It was Owen's first trip and I'd say by his motionless expression in the stroller he loved it too :) Ha. We ate at the cafe that overlooks the lions and Morgan "roared" at them and also called them "Maggie" so apparently they remind her of our pup! We're so glad Brittany came to visit :)

Hi giraffes

Owen

My wonderful friend Amber took these newborn pictures of Owen. Amber and I work together and last year she started her own photography business. She is a very busy mom of two, who works full time and now runs this photog business. I am so very proud of her for following her dreams and I hope that one day she's able to do photography as her career (if that's what she wants!) but in the mean time I am lucky enough to get our family pictures taken by her every few months. Here is sweet Owen, just 10 days old and adorable (if I do say so myself). I love the pictures of him on the rocking chair - it belonged to Jarid's great-grandmother and I love that we get to use this family heirloom to rock our children.

How lucky am I to call these adorable people my family. I thank the Lord everyday for blessing me with them...they are more than I ever could have wished for!

St. Patty's day!

My brother's birthday is on St. Patrick's day (happy 30th Jeremy!!) and my mom would always make green pancakes. I want to keep this going so this year Morgan and I had our first green pancakes together...Owen watched and got some a few hours later ..hee hee!













This little guy hasn't missed many meals!!

Tiny feet

Our birthing center is lined with baby footprints. At the first post partum appointment you get to ink up baby and put his or her little feet on the wall to live on forever :) Since we had both Owen and Morgan at the center we got to put Owen's feet right on top of Morgan's...a sweet little tradition they do at the center. Jarid says we'll decide how many kids we will have based on how much room there is above Owen's..hee hee!

Blooms

We went to the Arboretum today for the Blooms and to see the fairy tale castles with Jarid's parents. These are some of the pics they took on their phone :)
