First day of school :)

Today was our first official day of preschool. Morgan is really into dinosaurs right now (as indicated by asking to see The Land Before Time (and the 100 sequels they made!) like 10x a day! Ha!) so I tailored the first week around dinos! I'm not doing a formal program right now but might end up buying one if putting together lessons becomes too overwhelming - there is SO much out there!!

She started out by assembling a dino and glueing all the right letters to the right part. Then we glued spaghetti onto it for the bones. Throughout all this we talked about the skeleton system and pointed out bones. When Jarid got home she said "Daddy! This is my, what is it mommy? Femur!" Pretty exciting!

Next week did some dino counting. I was planning to save this for later in the week but she saw me cutting it out last night and wanted to do it today. Ha. She put the numbered dinos in numerical order and then we put the right number of (dino!) stickers on the paper. She loved this!

Last we did a writing assignment. She traced the word "dinosaur" and then tried to write it out on her own. She wrote out D and O and then just copied the dashes on paper which was adorable. I'm *beyond* impressed at her LOVE for writing.

It was a fun day and perfect timing because we worked on it all during Owen's nap. We plan to do maybe 3 days a week of schooling although Morgan would definitely be fine with more!
