We talked about God making the rain (which we do everytime it rains), about the need for rain to water the lakes, flowers, give animals water to drink and also what we like to do in the rain (puddle jumping for Morgan of course!) I read a few things to her about precipitation and how it is scientifically formed but she was way more interested in the paint - and that's totally okay with me.
We did some water play in the kitchen. I just spread out a huge towel and fill up some plastic containers and let them go for it. It's fun for both of them and fun for me to watch too.
This adorable project was another idea from my friend Marla's blog which as so many cute homeschooling/craft project ideas. We used coffee filters (we actually had them from forever ago in our pantry - and I don't even know why b/c we don't drink coffee) for the umbrella and then just cut out a handle. We used wine corks as our stampers (that, we do drink..ha!) which were perfect for making the circles of rain. She had a great time and loved painting with daddy.
