Splash park

Seriously...splash parks are the.best.inventions.ever. Morgan can run and play and get wet during the 100+ degree temps without me worrying about her getting in the "deep end" or doing something dangerous. It's awesome. Plus Owen loves getting his feet wet (which Morgan requests often that he "get in") so it's a win/win for everyone. We've gone a few times now. Here are some pics from the first one with Morgan's little friend Lucy. Can I just add how incredibly difficult it is to photograph a toddler??? More than half of my pictures of her are of her backside! She moves too quick that girl!

drinking the water...ewww...

Father's day

Morgan and Owen are two very lucky kids (ok, Reagan and Maggie too!) to have Jarid as their daddy! He's great :) he makes our lives fun, happy and we hate it when he's not home with us. For Father's Day we grilled and hung out (our favority thing to do as a family!) Morgan and I made daddy some rice krispies treats - yum!

DSO at the park

I love summer. There is always something fun to do outside. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra had a free concert night at a park near our house. Morgan had a great time pulling Kerry and Shana around to all the fun kids activities :)

say "cheese" Shana!

the extent of what she'd do in the bounce house...but she sure talked about it for a week after!

Jonah came for a visit!!

My 11 month old nephew came to visit us - oh yeah his mom and dad (my brother) too. Ha. That's how it goes when you have kiddos :) He's so much fun! We loved playing with him and watching him and Morgan together. We hung out, grilled, played in the kiddie pool and had a great time.

kissssssssss Jonahhhhhhhhh

Library

Ok. These are old. Like the beginning of May old. Whoops. Just transferred them from my "diaper bag camera" so here we go!  When my mom and sister (and neice Sadie!) were visiting we took the kiddos to storytime at the library. I do this alot - it's fun, it's free, it's inside and it's at the mall. Whoo hoo! So afterwards we can walk around if we feel like or get lunch or feed the ducks and turtles. It's nice.

oooohhh tunnel!

funnies

Since I'm on a roll (and Morgan decided to not nap today but is so tired that all she can do is watch Mickey Mouse and lean next to me) I thought I'd write out some funny things she is doing these days.

- she constantly is telling herself "thank you" when she does something like throw away her trash or make us a meal in her kitchen. She'll even say it if we had to ask her like a million times to do something and threaten the stairs (aka time out) - and she does her sign language with it.
- when both her and Owen wake up I always say "Oh I missed you while you were sleeping" (I really do...it's nuts you try to get them down for the nap and once they're down you wish they were awake again!) so now randomly she'll grab Owen's hand and say "miss you." Aww I love it!
- the other day she said I word I didn't understand so I asked her again and still didn't get it. She was not amused. I asked her to show me (she was eating in her high chair) so she just gave me a smurk and waited a full minute before saying "BUT-TER!!!" ok...I got it...the girl wanted more peanut butter. That smurk made me laugh so hard though b/c she was seriously annoyed I wasn't getting it!
- she has started to "hop" - she'll start by squatting down like a frog and say "ready, set, HOP!" and jump up one foot at a time. She is SO proud of herself when she does this!
- she has started telling her dolls/toys/the pups/occassionally us "No, uh-uh, don't" and puts her hands up in front of her. Ummm...pretty sure I taught her the hands in front of her thing for when she's "waiting" (we're working on patience and being polite...not using it for the opposite!)
