Helping daddy

Morgan is so helpful. Daddy was hanging the TV in our room and Morgan decided to help him out! She was holding the instructions, handing him screws and of course trying to put some stuff in her mouth...however she can help!

First Steps!!

Morgan took her first steps today!! She had a toy that she wanted to bring to me and she just stood up and took the four steps to get there! After I took the toy I was just kinda shocked and she kept standing there for about 30 more seconds. It was just amazing...amazing!

Later on this afternoon she took a few more and I was able to get it on video. She was very proud of herself (as she should be!) and we celebrated with cookies and rice milk!

Pictures coming soon of the "day she took her first steps!"

Lake day

Today we spent the day on Lake Ray Hubbard. Morgan LOVES the water and had a blast. She didn't even fuss over her life jacket this time! We let her sit on a raft sans life vest with "uncle" Danny for a while and she was in heaven. It's always fun to hang out with our friends during the summer...especially when boats and the lake are involved!

What's Morgan up to these days?

Is the most common question I get! Everyone wants to know what our sweet little baby girl is doing. So...here it is:

She talks. Oh the girl talks. So far these are the confirmed words she says. Dada (like allllll the time!) and sometimes Daddy, mama (rarely but it's sweet when she does),Hi (which is usually hi-ya!), bye, baby, button (as in belly button), quack quack, duck, dog, bath, ball, GaGa (for Sugar), Ming Ming (um...as in the Wonder Pet...yep she watches some Nick Jr while mommy works), she's starting to say Maggie and I swear to you she says Bad Dog (Shana taught her that.) She definitely "says" the same things over again and one of them sounds like "I did it" with the did being a super super high voice. It's adorable.

She signs. She still loves signing. She asks to eat, drink, more, and all done. Sometimes when she wants to say something and can't get it out though she'll just ask to "eat." Hee hee. We're working on please and thank you.

She is a crawler. Not too much interest in walking yet. She's too focused on talking! She'll stand for 10-30 seconds at a time several times during the day and will walk with both hands holding onto ours but is not a fan of walking with just one. We're okay with this though. Makes her "our baby" that much longer.

She points. At everything! She never even knows what she wants she just points you in a general direction and then finds something she has decided she needs. It's usually followed by and "uh, uh, uh" while pointing.

She is an eater. I tell you what, this girl eats. You name it...she loves it. So far the only food we've found she doesn't like is asparagus and cantalope. She loves peas, blueberries, spaghetti, chicken, turkey, beans, tortillas, guacamole (she gets her own side at Chuy's now!), peaches, bananas, strawberries, green beans, pasta and pretty much anything else we give her. She still hasn't had citrus, egg, nuts, fish, corn, dairy or soy but even though this sounds like alot of things she still has a big variety in her diet and still loves her "milkies" :)

She is a sweetie. She is really into giving us hugs and kisses. Oh it just melted my heart when she gave Daddy a kiss the other day and he said "have you seen her do that??? She just gave me a kiss!" It was adorable. She will also go and lay her head on Reagan and Maggie and give them some love too. We're so lucky to have such a sweetie.

She sleeps in a big girl bed. Yep. As of this week she has a full size mattress for a tiny little girl. She is such a mover in bed that the crib just wouldn't work and she kept running into Jarid and me in our bed. So she's been in her full size mattress on the floor for a few days now and loves it. Instead of it making her look like a "big girl" it makes her just look so small compared to the bed!

She's all girl. She loves her tea set, her mini kitchen, her babies, and her rocking chair. She shrieks like a girl (where did she learn that? Not from mommy!) and wrinkles up her nose when something is funny. Sometimes she throws her head back when she laughs. She doesn't like her hands being dirty and is always giving you your shoes if you dare to take them off!

Here are some pics of the sweetest little 14.5 month old and a few of the pups too!

Fun in the sun

Daddy was working hard cleaning the hot tub on the roof deck and Morgan decided it was time to play in the water! She started out splashing and ended up pouring the hose right on her. Silly girl. She had lots of fun and was just giggling and playing..you can see how she goes from semi-dry to soaked in the pics!

Shana sings the national anthem

About 7 months ago we were lucky enough to find our wonderful nanny Shana. Morgan just loves her. Shana is a woman of many talents one of those being singing!! She auditioned and was asked to sing the national anthem at Lone Star Park racetracks. Her family and friends came in town to hear her and it was fun to meet all of them. They'd all heard so much about Morgan :) Her singing was just amazing...it actually brought tears to my eyes. It was cute too b/c Morgan was looking around for her when she heard her singing - guess she recognizes it from nap time!

4th of July!

Fourth of July we had Jarid's family over for some fajitas. We didn't take too many pictures because we were all too busy chatting and catching up. Morgan got to spend time with Aunt Janelle, Uncle Brett, and cousins Hunter, Tyler and Brittany. I made some festive Jell-o for Morgan and she loved it ... which is why there isn't much left by the time I took the pictures!!
